Since 2020, Passero Associates has doubled its staff to more than185 associates and is expanding several of their regional offices outside of the corporate home base in Rochester, New York. During those four years and after the Covid-19 pandemic, the company grew market share and new employees on a parallel track. “Those two operational practices have been in alignment with each other between 20- to 25-percent each year during that time period,” said Jess Sudol, president of the company.
“Remarkably, when many companies were laying off their employees, we were maintaining and increasing the number of associates,” said CEO Andrew Holesko. “We’ve been very deliberate and intentional with hiring great, new people and adding great, new projects,” he added.
In the past couple of months, the firm has added a few key positions to help chart their course in the months and years ahead. Passero is pleased to announce that the following people have joined their team:
Meet Our New Team Members
Stephen Demeo
Construction Manager
St. Augustine, Florida
Stephen has more than 39 years in the AEC industry and will be supporting geotechnical, civil engineering, land development, and environmental services on a wide variety of transportation, commercial, municipal and private sector projects. Stephen earned his Bachelor of Science from New York State University at Cortland.
Peter Kryzwick
Marketing Director
St. Augustine, Florida
With more than 20 years of communications and creative design experience in the AEC industry, Pete will steer the company’s primary marketing efforts. He has a depth of knowledge in sales procurement, program management, graphic design, asset management and marketing operations. Pete is a graduate of Flagler College.
Brian Simpson
Senior Project Architect
Charlotte, North Carolina
Registered in North and South Carolina, Brian earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Ohio State University and has held pivotal leadership roles in client management, business operations, and project management. His recent experience includes spearheading multi-family housing as well as a wide array of architectural design projects in mixed use, corporate, institutional, hospitality, and retail market sectors.
Connor Stucki
Senior Structural Project Engineer
Rochester, New York
Connor rejoins Passero with more than ten years’ experience and is a licensed Professional Engineer. His background includes engineering analysis, inspection of existing structures, design of commercial structures, and design of wastewater facilities. He has worked on a number of featured projects in Rochester including the Miller Building, Greece Community Center, Center City, and many others.
Lawton Watts
Civil Engineer Associate
Rochester, New York
Lawton is well-versed in office design work and has a brief history of working in construction management. He is a recent addition to the team after a yearlong internship and graduating from Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering Technology. Lawton has experience in housing projects, state and county DOT projects, and commercial retailers.
It's Time To Expand Our Office Space
To accommodate the firm’s burgeoning regional staff, Passero recently expanded office space in Dayton, Ohio and is planning to enlarge existing office space in Charlotte and St. Augustine in the fall, as well as Atlanta, Georgia in 2025.
