Location

Dayton, OH

Description

Passero Associates conducted an Airfield Guidance Signage Assessment on behalf of the City of Dayton Department of Aviation. The project consisted of the following major components:

  • Inventory existing airfield guidance signs
  • Provide condition assessment of each sign
  • Collect manufacturer information and approximate age
  • Provide photographs of each sign
  • Denote condition of foundations, mounting hardware, grounding cables and tethers
  • Review signage luminosity and readability during night operations

In addition to the condition assessment, Passero Associates engineers reviewed the existing signage for adherence to current Advisory Circulars and prepared an itemized list of recommendations including prioritization of repairs, replacements, and necessary changes to meet current requirements.

Information was used to update Airport Operations and FAA Part 139 reviewers during onsite observation activities.
