Description

Passero Associates provided extensive Airfiled Planning for the City of Dayton with an Airport Layout Plan (ALP) Update for the Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport (MGY). After collecting
detailed planimetric and photometric data in accordance with FAA’s Airport GIS (AGIS) Program, this study engaged a diverse technical advisory committee to explore the plausible future
demand on the facility and how best to accommodate that growth. Beyond forecasting future aeronautical demand and examining demand/capacity relationships on the Airport,
the planning effort also included an evaluation of the required runway length and safety area / protection zone dimensions for the Runway based on the changes in corporate and itinerant
aircraft traffic and fleet mix.

As local townships are re-zoning vacant lands in the vicinity of the Airport to accommodate rapid developing growth associated with improved ground access to nearby I-75, the Airport
elected to update it ALP to ensure it could remain the GA airport of choice in southwestern Ohio.

The study was completed and approved by the FAA and ODOT.
