Description

This project consisted of Final Design Documents (Bidding/Construction) for the development of new crossing control devices and markings for the Amelia Riverfront existing railroad crossings at Ash and Centre Streets.  The scope of work included providing future crossing control devices at the new proposed railroad crossing at Alachua Street, consistent with Amelia Riverfront Resiliency Study. Due to limited space between Front Street and Amelia Riverfront, the location of control devices required the relocation of Front Street (West), at all three railroad crossings. This design represents the first phase which included minor changes to existing grades and at crossings, and blended adjacent surfaces and portions of new curbing and sidewalks. The design is intended as a temporary, short-term solution, with final design and construction as part of the future Marina Park. The design effort also Included coordination with the City's Railroad Consultant and First Coast Railroad (FCRR).
