Erie Harbor Townhomes Adaptive Reuse

This adaptive reuse site along the Genesee River features new market rate and affordable townhomes. Passero Associates designed all of the infrastructure and worked closely with the City of Rochester to integrate the project with the City’s new waterfront park area.

Engineering challenges of this project included designing the construction of the new buildings onto the existing pile foundation system due to the poor soil conditions. Another challenge was coordinating the curb cut and design of the access points of the project with the reconstruction of Mt. Hope Avenue by the City of Rochester. This project also included a Brownfield cleanup which was accomplished by recycling the concrete from the former building for use as the “CAP.”
