We provided master planning services for development of the grounds at the soon to be renovated Finger Lakes Museum, which will be a unique experiential museum encompassing the Finger Lakes and all that the region has to offer.
The site’s primary organization is a scaled model of the Finger Lakes region with the footprint of each Finger Lake defining key amenity areas. Elements of the plan include the following:
• Parking expansion
• Windmill and solar panels
• Dog park
• Amphitheater
• Various gardens, reflecting pool, and exterior exhibits
• Rock climbing wall, play area, and splash park
• Elevated aviary and an observation water tower that marks your location in the scale model.
Inspired by the glacially formed gorges and lakes of the region that drive industry and create attractions, the museum design uses water as a theme to communicate with and guide visitors to greater understanding and appreciation for all the Finger Lakes region has to offer.
