JCC Dining Hall Renovation

Total Cost

$2 Million

Description

This project involved the demolition of the existing traditional institutional kitchen and servery to create an inviting, modern and interactive open kitchen and dining experience for students and staff.

The biggest challenge was to arrive at a solution that will be the definition of the dining experience for the next 20 years. Waiting in line has been replaced by Point of Sale ordering via internet, smart phone or kiosk. Each customer is notified when their order is ready via text and payment and debit can all be handled on line. Students in the new dormitories can order from their rooms and schedule pick up at their convenience. The dining experience is a complete cyber café with internet connectivity and power stations throughout. Being a commuter school, we wanted to encourage a place to linger and meet.
