Description

Dayton’s airport master plan focus areas are to address airside development and landside development. A Technical Advisory and Regional Advisory committee were formed to provide guidance throughout the planning process. Consultation with air traffic control is a vital component to this Master Plan, as significant airfield geometry issues were addressed, including possible decoupling of intersecting runways, terminal apron geometry, extensions to primary runway and associated impacts to Runway Protection Zones, adjacent roadways and airspace impacts.

The landside development alternatives examined air cargo facility reuse/re-purposing along with identification of surplus land development or release. The Master Plan incorporated key findings from other reports to ensure seamless development for the terminal facility and airline needs. Public relations was a critical component to this Master Planning effort, and will be a key component to the entire project maintaining open communication with the public.
