The previous rental car cleaning facility owned by the Gainesville Regional Airport Authority, was a one story concrete block facility which included a one car wash and maintenance bay, an above ground gas storage tank with dispensers and vacuuming system. At that time it served two rental car companies. The authority tasked Passero Associates to develop a consolidated rental car cleaning facility to meet all EPA, FDEP and other regulatory agencies’ requirements. To be cost effective, we used the existing footprint with new designed pre wash areas under canopy, two bay car wash facilities, 12,000 gallon above ground fueling facility with multi dispensers and four two sided vacuuming systems with independent storage cabinets to serve all six rental car companies. By doing this allowed the authority to increase their revenue by and providing a centralized facility for all the rental car companies currently at the airport, and therefore extremely improving their operations.
