Rochester Apartment Building Structural Assessment and Repair

Passero Associates was retained to assessment and investigate corrosion of existing primary steel support structure and ongoing cracking and deterioration of surrounding structural elements. It was discovered the CMU surrounds at each steel column were retaining water, leading to corrosion of the inner steel columns and beam framing below. Repairs to the existing steel structure were deemed required and were detailed to repair the steel framing in place and reinforced the existing structure in order to maintain and extend its service life.
