Description

Passero Associates served as the lead civil engineering firm on the design team for a $52M downtown transit center that serves 26,000 passengers daily and accommodates 26 bus bays. Working with Kimley-Horn, Passero completed a traffic study for 18 intersections in the Center City area that analyzes the impact of constructing the RGRTA Terminal. The team also assessed the advantages and disadvantages of converting North Clinton Avenue and St. Paul Street from one way to two way and conducted a passenger/pedestrian study to model pedestrian movements in and around the terminal. Passero Associates was responsible for the design and reconfiguration of the traffic signals and for all A.D.A. design for passengers.

Passero was responsible for all topographic survey and mapping for the site and completed the survey and mapping for an Official Map Amendment (OMA) to reduce the existing city right-of-way on Mortimer Street and property acquisition maps. Passero completed a study and report on all existing site utilities and assessment of the impact and resulting conflicts with the proposed terminal. Passero also designed the utility relocations and site drainage analysis and design of the stormwater management and stormwater quality facilities.

Passero assisted RGRTA and RTKL with preparing the Design-Build RFP for this project.
