Description

Rehabilitation of the 170-feet wide by 8,000 feet primary runway at Lake City Gateway Airport. Project included numerous components including bituminous pavement rehabilitation and a reconstruction and strengthening of the runway involving re-profiling the entire runway length. Runway Safety Area grading at Runway 10, including new storm sewer crossing and pipe lining of existing drainage network. Paved shoulder rehabilitation, new edge lighting and signage, blast pad reconstruction, runway marking, ditch cleaning, and grading.

The project included substantial coordination with airport tenants, the contractor and an aggressive five-phase construction safety phasing plan. The project was completed on time and under budget.
