Description

Construction began on Taxiway B on January 17, 2023, and the taxiway was fully reopened on February 21, 2023 (35 calendar days). Primary Runway 13/31 was able to remain open during the day by shifting paving operations inside the runway safety area to be performed at night.

Project entailed milling and paving approximately 35,000 square yards on flexible pavement, sealcoating 12,000 square yards of existing flexible pavement, upgrading the electrical lighting and signage to LED, and removing a direct access taxiway connection via demolishing and reshaping Taxiway B2, as well as over 10,000 square yards of site restoration. Construction total is $1.8 M.

Notable coordination was required between the air control tower by the engineer, prime contractor, and subconsultants during this project, and all parties involved were thanked profusely by the tower chief and airport for their professionalism and safe operating procedures.

All work was completed in accordance with the plans and specifications, as well as finished on time and under budget.
