This Aviation-themed General Aviation Terminal Building at Fernandina Beach supports airport management and operations staff, as well as the Fixed Base Operator (FBO) facilities, including adjacent public meeting rooms and a 2nd story observation deck. The building theme is modeled after the rich aviation history of the airport, using the WWII-era F4U “Corsair” as the vision for the Terminal. The FBO area encompasses 5,000 sf of space over a two-story area, including a 2,000 sf adjacent (attached) “shade hangar.” The first-floor airport administration / operations area is comprised of 2,700 sf of multi-use space, plus an additional 1,800 SF, 2nd floor covered observation deck.
