This $30 million dollar LEED Certified project involved a comprehensive upgrade to the ticketing and baggage claim lobby security screening area (TSA), building frontage as well as new building construction for the rental car agencies. The magnitude of the required maintenance repairs at the aged facility created a situation where it was more cost-effective to replace much of the infrastructure, including the water and sewer mains, entire canopy structure, brighter and energy efficient LED lighting was installed, electrical and mechanical systems, sound system, sidewalk and roadway. The building façade was modified to provide large, glazed openings that allow natural light to enter the Terminal Check-In and Baggage Claim areas. New terrazzo flooring was installed in the entire lobby with a unique life size aircraft designs, representing many of the historical aircrafts.

Passero staff planned and supported the City as an Owner’s Representative, from project planning and conception to completion, assisting the City by developing an acquisition strategy to solicit highly qualified CMAR proposals and ensure compliance with the guaranteed maximum price (GMP). Other services provided by Passero staff also included civil and roadway design, grants administration and construction observation on over $40 million of related infrastructure projects at the Dayton International Airport.
