Tree Removal with Runway 28 & Taxiway Extension at Watertown International Airport

Overall project included a 1,002’ long by 150’ wide extension to Runway 28 and parallel taxiway, with associated lighting and drainage installations. As part of this project, 94.4 Acres of tree obstructions were removed and disposed of, off three Runway Ends, based on obstruction data from the associated Master Plan process. The forested areas ranged from young growth to dense mature tree growth. These cleared areas were then restored to turf condition. Tree removal work was completed in accordance with NYSDEC requirements, as some wetland areas were impacted. The project also included construction of light lane access for future MALSR Installation.
