Description

Passero Associates served as the Civil Engineering consultant to the design architect for the Golisano Children’s Hospital project at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC).

This nine-story, $145 million new children’s hospital expands and consolidates pediatric care with state-of-the-art laboratories, medical facilities and staff. The 194,200± gross square foot building is designed to be LEED certified and includes future structure and systems infrastructure to add additional floors. Bridge connections to Strong Memorial Hospital are located on the third and fourth floors. The expansion is located on a very tight and congested site. Passero Site Design and Analysis services included Survey and Mapping; Significant and Complicated Utility Design; Site Drainage and Stormwater Management Design including a SWPPP; Vehicular and Pedestrian Access; FAA Airspace Considerations; Entitlements; Cost Estimating; Construction Administration, and Traffic and Parking Studies. Significant approval and permit acquisition was required from the City of Rochester, FAA, NYSDEC and several County agencies. SEQRA review and approval for development within the Institutional Planned Development (IPD) zoning district was required.
