Village of Pittsford Pedestrian Safety Plan

SRF Associates, now Passero Associates, was tasked with developing pedestrian safety enhancements at several key locations identified, in part, by the Town/Village of Pittsford NY Active Transportation Plan. These locations experience high levels of pedestrian activity along the heavily traveled NY-31 and NY-96 corridors, which are adjacent to the Erie Canal. Enhancements included flush and raised median treatments, curb extensions, new ADA compliant pedestrian crossings, signage, and rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFBs). The NYSDOT is currently installing the noted enhancements as part of routine maintenance projects along these routes.
