SAMPSON STATE PARK
1960-EXISTING 12
Post-War Use
-1957: the runway and 449 acres of land was transfered
to the Seneca Army Depot (adjacent to site)
-1960: the site was put out to bid and eventually divided
into 4 parts: Amershadian’s Youth Town U.S.A., the Samp-
son State Park, the General Services Administration’s Civil
Defense Warehouse, and the “Q” Hospital Area (mental
health hospital).

-Pictured here are what remains of the existing at Samp-
son Park:
-Most of the buidlings were removed but much of the
underlying infrastructure still exists in varying condi-
tions
